When Justice Comes by Collen Coble and Rick Acker
This was so awesome! Suspense with every page! I really couldn’t put it down.
In this third and final novel of the Tupelo Grove series, Hez and Savannah find trouble around every turn. I enjoyed this because not every couple survives the loss of a child. They rediscover their love and attempt to rewrite their story in the midst of threats, danger, family secrets, and lies. They encounter darkness in every direction. Dark family secrets with deadly vendettas almost tear them apart.
Their nephew, Simon, becomes a pawn when the couple files for adoption and two other petitioners come forward. They endure a harrowing experience in family court.
There are so many things happening with so much suspense, you will stay up late reading!
I loved this because it made me feel with the characters. I was frustrated, angry, sad, and happy. That means I truly connected with the characters and the story. There is nothing better for a reader than being so immersed in a story that you laugh, cry, and scream with the characters.
I absolutely love the dogs! Marley and Cody are wonderful! Cody’s description just made me laugh out loud. I think it’s important to carry pets through a story if they are introduced as characters. The authors did a splendid job with this aspect.
The characters are well developed and very relatable.
Some interesting quotes:
“He had come to the end of the mission he set himself-really the end of his life- and he finally gripped the prize in his hands. But somehow, he held only ashes.” ( - this just spoke to me on several levels.)
“All your grades matter for college, and you’ll use math the rest of your life.” (As a parent I have used something similar.)
“She still wasn’t sure what breed to call Cody with his Chihuahua legs, oversized Great Dane ears, and greyhound body, His crooked Chesapeake Bay retriever tail added to his comical appearance.” (This made me love Cody even more!)
I have really enjoyed the whole series. Colleen and Rick did a phenomenal job co-writing; it was seamless to the reader!
I was privileged to have the ability to review both formats of the book. The narration on the audiobook was superb! The individual voices given to the characters further developed them even more than the writing. It gave them depth and personality beyond the page. 5+/5⭐
I would like to Thank Colleen Coble, Rick Acker, Thomas Nelson, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an ARC of both the audiobook and the e-book of this novel. The opinions expressed here are my own.
