The Memory Dress by Jade Beer
This is an entertaining dual timeline with love, glamour, mystery and found family, just beautiful.
In 2018, Jayne is a quiet dog walker and compassionate introvert. When a dog escapes and introduces her to a neighbor, Meridith, everything changes.
It is obvious with each encounter; Jayne is forced to open up in reaction to the conditions Meredith is living in while insisting her husband is missing. Meredith’s cry for help is answered by Jayne and the other residents as she recruits them into her mission. A family forms with the mystery of Meredith and her missing husband.
In 1988, Meredith met and married her husband while working in a famous fashion house that created for the royal house, including Princess Dianna.
The beautiful story of the fashion creations alone was captivating but the heartfelt journey with Jayne as she helps Meredith find her way and solve the mystery of her missing husband is heartbreaking and beautifully moving.
I loved this story. Jayne is a compelling character with compassion and pain, it was wonderful meeting her. Meredith was a beautiful soul with talent and love for her family.
I did think the story was a little distracted by the number of dresses referenced, but overall the story was just beautiful and the writing was so wonderful. I loved the other character and the love story that develops for Jayne. 4/5⭐
