This was my first book by Michael Connelly and it blew me away! Awesome is a one-word description I would use over and over. Just wow!
Set in the idyllic Catalina Island where LA County liked to exile cops who have issues.
LA County Sheriff’s Detective Stillwell was sent to the low-key post on the rustic Catalina Island after politics chased him away form his homicide desk.
When a body is found in the harbor, his mundane petty theft and drunk and disorderly cases are shadowed by a big crime.
Jane Doe was definitely a murder and he has a poaching issue at the same time.
While Detective Stillwell crosses lines and races to solve the cases he is met with conflict from an old colleague and locals that don’t want their secrets to surface.
The secrets guarded on the serene island surface with danger and mystery.
This was phenomenal! It was full of suspense and mystery with riveting characters! Wonderful character development and excellent writing! If you love a good mystery, this one is for you! Loved it! 5/5⭐
