This book introduces a new series with FBI agent Atlee Pine, a thriller set at the Grand Canyon.
Atlee Pine was a victim at six and her twin was taken, still missing 30 years later. Atlee is still searching for answers, she has new aspirations for those answers as an FBI agent. The tragedy shaped the person she has become, it even defines how she operates in the field.
A tortured mule and a missing man point to mind blowing leads as Atlee proceeds against orders to investigate her case. It could end her career or propel it forward if she survives.
This was an interesting lead into a series. Although I had a few issues with the logistics of the storyline and how realistic it may or may not be, I will read the series. I was disappointed after opening with the missing sister, I expected more from that storyline and it was just not there. Even with that said, I still give it 4/5⭐ because I like the writing style and the characters.
