The Wild Card by Carolyn Brown
This was a wonderful story of found family, friendship and survival of life’s wild card.
Carla Wilson thinks she was dealt a bad hand when she won a small roadside diner in Texas. Her luck ran out in Tucson, leaving her with just the fumes in her tank and the personal items in her suitcase.
When she coasted into town and arrived at the Tumbleweed Bus Stop and Diner, she had no idea how her life was about to change. Her goal was to sell quickly and move on, until she met the cook and the lone waitress.
This story is unforgettably entertaining with Jackson, a handsome oil heir, and matchmaking senior citizens. She finds all the things she never knew she was missing and has to decide if it’s enough to make her stay.
What I loved most about this story how the ladies had one another’s backs through everything. I love a good found family story and this was a coming of age with found family and so much more! I really enjoyed this.
The audio production was well done. The characters were represented well and the performance added to the experience. 5/5⭐
