Beach House Rules by Kristy Woodson Harvey
I loved this one! You have a complex cast of women who have been thwarted by life and circumstance. Alice has taken them in, giving hope. This had domestic drama with multiple meshed families, broken families combined to make a new family.
I am giving this on 5/5⭐ because it kept me interested with a little mystery, a love story, and just feel-good fiction at its best! Awesome writing and layering of a beautiful story of found family.
Favorite quote: “Just because something is broken, Alice, that doesn’t mean you throw it away. It means that if you love it enough, if you care for it exactly right, you can make it whole again.” Pg. 70
Summary:
Charlotte Sitterly’s life is thrown into chaos when her husband, Bill, is arrested for fraud. She and her daughter, Iris are locked out of their lives.
When everything is locked down, bank account, home, and more, Charlotte and Iriis are faced with unimagined challenges, including a place to stay.
Charlotte and Iris find refuge at the beach house with a group of others in similar circumstances. Each has a role and duties to run the machine.
Unconventional, the women and children mesh together to make a family, a sisterhood.
This was just captivating, a real Southern-Comfort gem! 5/5⭐
