The Song of the Blue Bottle Tree by India Hayford

Genevieve returns to her childhood home in Arkansas. Her life has taken her on some interesting travels throughout the South. While working in Louisianna for a circus, she finds a connection with snakes and explores her gift of talking to the dearly departed.

For the first time in a decade, she is back at her grandma’s farmhouse. She encounters a veteran with a haunted past, a mother and daughter that need independence, and an evil preacher that needs to be served some well-deserved justice.

This was a compelling story filled with magical realism, dark humor, and discovery. Everyone needs to define their place in the world and embrace a good challenge while accepting a gift, especially that of friendship.

I really enjoyed this story! 4.5/5⭐

I would like to say Thank You to NetGalley for the opportunity to review an ARC of the audiobook for this novel. The narration was excellent and gave the characters life and depth.
