Remember Me by Mario Escobar

This was an intense Historical Fiction book covering the Spanish Civil War. The subject was intriguing because I didn’t know much about it.

Honestly it was a struggle to get into. The subject carried the story because I just couldn’t connect with the characters. The flow was a little off.

There are some violent scenes that may be hard to process.

I loved the premise of talking about an important historical piece of history.

The characters seemed shallow and flat, hard to connect with and with so many horrible depictions of brutal events, I could not stay interested enough to enjoy the story.

I felt like it needs an emotional connection to the reader, and for me that just didn’t happen. 2.5/5⭐
